The most important qualities when beginning the journey of learning and practice are persistence and dedication. The arts of Taijiquan and Qigong do not bring instant results. While it’s true that even a short period of practice can leave you feeling lighter, calmer, and more energized, lasting transformation requires long-term commitment. To truly allow these arts to have a permanent and meaningful influence on our lives, they must be practiced consistently over a lifetime.
Taiji and Qigong should eventually become second nature—like eating or breathing. Through lifelong practice, the wisdom and skills they cultivate become woven into our daily lives, shaping not just how we move, but how we live, think, and relate to others.
A lifetime of practice, however, does not mean endless hours each day. You don’t need to devote your entire schedule to training. Life has its seasons. there will be times when you have the energy and space to practice more deeply, and times when less is possible. Still, even around 30 minutes a day can bring profound benefits—enhancing your health, strengthening your well-being, and enriching the quality of your life, not only for yourself but also for those around you.
